WebOct 10, 2012 · I have a 12.7L Detroit in a 2000 Freightliner. I don't know what DDEC version that is. I have had 2 instances where it seemed like a lost power going up a pretty steep hill (in the field - steeper than what you get on most roads). In at least one case, it was blowing white smoke. In both cases it recovered once on the level and all was fine.
