Comparing strings to me is a bit of a wildcard, I would prefer to compare something like a number as to my eyes 1 = 1, yet 1 = 1.00 is also true or 1 = "1" but that is something more of what strings provide, variety. UTC comparison works but what if you don't have that format, you'd have to convert.
